Purpose
This
SOP describes the procedure for preparation of Indicator Solutions.
Scope
This
procedure is applicable for preparation of Indicators of Research and
Development Centre at “ABC Limited”.
Procedure:
- Wear surgical gloves during preparation of Indicator solutions.
- Take appropriate glassware of suitable capacity to prepare the Indicator solutions.
- Use AR & LR Grade chemicals for the preparation of Indicator solutions.
- Ensure that chemical is within ‘use before date’ from the sticker on the container.
- Prepare Indicator solutions as per IP/ /BP/USP /EP or respective In-House standard test procedure for that specified Indicator solutions.
- Prepare the Indicator solutions after every one month or if physical appearance changes.
- Prepare the fresh Indicator solutions, when recommended.
- Fill the label of the Indicator solutions with following details and affix it on the container and “Record of Indicator Solutions Preparation”
- Prepare the indicator solutions under fume hood whenever required.
- Frequency of preparation of Indicator solutions is given in their respective Standard Test Procedure.
- Do not use Indicator solutions after one month from the date of preparation.
- Check the sensitivity of the Indicator solutions as per Standard Test Procedure at the time of preparation.
- For ready made Indicator solutions use up to three years.
