Temperature monitoring
Procedure:
  • Monitoring of Temperature and Relative Humidity by Dry & Wet Bulb hygrometer.
  • Ensure that hygrometer shall be calibrated and calibration tag shall be in place.
  • Check the water level of the cisterns.
  • Replace the water of the cistern on daily basis.
  • Ensure that wick is not clogged with dust. If clogged wash or replaced as per the requirement. Wicks of hygrometers should be change as when required.
  • Observe the dry bulb thermometer temperature.
  • Similarly observe the temperature of the wet bulb thermometer.
  • Find the depression value by subtracting the reading of the wet bulb thermometer from the dry bulb thermometer.
  • Record the Temperature & Relative Humidity in “Temperature and Relative Humidity Record”.
  • If Temperature & Relative Humidity gets out of limit then immediately informed to In-charge of concerned department & Engineering for rectification.
  • Engineering Head shall rectify the problem.
  • If Temperature & Relative Humidity get not rectified, then immediately stop the activity and cover the material. Ensure that material should not be exposed.
  • If hygrometers due for calibration then follow the SOP for “Calibration of Instruments”, SOP.
  • Temperature & relative humidity shall be monitored during this period with back up instrument, like data logger, hygrometer of all the area.
  • Before using back up instrument, ensure that it should be calibrated.
  • Procedure for monitoring of Temperature and Relative Humidity by Digital   hygrometer
  • Ensure that Digital hygrometer is clean.
  • Check the calibration due date of Digital hygrometer and inform to QA before 30 days the due date of Digital hygrometer.
  •  Check the temperature and relative humidity of room/area from display of digital Hygrometer and same shall be recorded as per acceptance criteria.
  • Record the Temperature & Relative Humidity of the area only if the area is in use for Process.
  • Do not start the activity if the observed reading of the area is not within the specified limit.
  • Recording of the data in processing Area:
  • The activity shall be started after compliance of required Temperature & % RH or both as   required.
  • During processing if the excursion in the Temp. & RH observed from the specified limit, Chemist / Supervisor shall inform the engineering.
  • If the excursion in temperature and RH exceeds more than 30 minutes, stop the activity and initiate the deviation. Impact assessment on processing material / batch shall be done before taking to next process and Re-line clearance shall be taken.
  • Recording of the data in Storage Area:
  • Temperature / % RH or both (which is applicable) of storage at-least two times a day.
  • Excursion in temperature and % RH if exceed more than the 24 hours, these shall be handled through following SOP of Handling of Deviation. Impact assessment on stored material / batch shall be done.
