SOP on Operating Procedure of Air Compressor

Purpose

To describe the procedure for Operation of Air Compressor.

Procedure:

Start-up Procedure of Air compressor with Air Dryer and cooling tower

• Clean the Air Compressor externally.
• Check the oil level in Oil Chamber; it should be up to half level.
• Check proper functioning of drain valve on Air Receiver Tank to drain the condensate water.
• Open the inlet and outlet valves of cooling water of Air Compressor.
• Open the inlet and outlet valve of Air Dryer.
• Switch on main power supply of cooling tower.
• Start cooling tower before air compressor.
• Switch ON the main power supply of Air Compressor and press ON button on HMI.
• Check the loading and unloading pressure on HMI.it should be 8 to 10 bars.
• Check the oil temperature of the compressor on HMI and note down in log sheet.it should be 70 to 140 ⁰C.
• Switch ON the main power supply of Air Dryer and press start on HMI.
• Note down the dryer dew point in log sheet.it should be between 2 to 6 0c.

Shut down Procedure of Air Compressor

• To shut down the compressor press OFF button on HMI. Compressor will stop. Switch OFF the main power supply of air compressor and air dryer.
• Close the inlet and outlet valves of cooling water of Air Compressor.
• To shut down the air dryer press stop on HMI. Air Dryer will stop.  Switch OFF main supply of air dyer.
• Switch off main power supply of cooling tower.
