Purpose
To describe the procedure for determination of base and propellant weight for the empty CANs in filling area.
Procedure
Base Filler:
  • Before starting of filling operation, status labels are prepared showing fill weight of base and propellant weight given by the Production Executive/Designee and calculated from BPR.
  • Set the Bulk fill weight in CAN given by the Production Executive/Designee.
  • Ensure that the balance is verified, against standard calibrated weight.
  • Tare the weight of empty CAN on the weighing balance.
  • Operate the filling machine and fill the CAN.
  • Place it on weighing balance that now reads the fill weight of the base filler.
  • Confirm the same by weighing consecutive 4 more CANs. Adjust fill weight required as per respective SOP of operation.
  • Repeat steps for resetting of the weights.
  • Reconfirm the same on consecutive 5 fill CANs and then only start filling operation.
Propellant Filler:
  • Propellant fill weight setting in crimped empty CAN with valve given by the Production Executive/Designee.
  • Tare weight the CAN on weighing balance.
  • Charge propellant as per respective SOP of operation.
  • Weigh it. Read fill weight for propellant charged.
  • Confirm the same by repeating above steps taking 4 more CANs.
  • Adjust if necessary the fill value as per respective SOP of operation.
  • Confirm the adjusted fill weight on 5 consecutive filled CANs.
  • Fill weight check for Propellant.
  • Repeat above steps if any discrepancies.
